Weight Watchers – Weighing In & Letstrain.ie

I’m back to my weekly weigh ins at meetings with Assumpta Dunne in her new location just off Burton Hall Road, Sandyford in Burton Hall Campus, Arena Road (opposite Spirit Motors) on Tuesday’s at 1pm.

Last week after the Bank Hol I was up a pound… I was so annoyed. I’d been so good, I’d tracked, exercised but the one unusual thing I did was have 3 glasses of beer. I took the 3 points per glass out of my Weekly 49 ProPoints but even so I weighed in with a gain.

I was disappointed but all it did was motivate me to do even better this past week.

This week I was down 2.5lbs – waaaheeeey!

Only 2lbs to go back to my dress weight :) Thank G-d and I’m literary waiting for the Bridal shop to call to say it’s landed.

Has anyone seen Bulging Brides on Sky Livingit? It’s on a Friday at 9pm. I have it Sky +’d – basically the Bride gets her dress with 6 weeks to go to her wedding and sometimes it closes, sometimes it’s inches too small but Personal Trainer – Tommy Europe & his sidekick Nutritionist (can’t remember her name!) come in to save the day. G-d forbid the Bride would still have some “back cleavage” or a bit of pudge spilling out… It’s funny but it also got me thinking… What if my dress won’t close & this happens to me!!!

After a couple of nights of a re-occurring nightmare I decided to get off my ass & get back to resistance training. I needed to find something close to home & work so I googled & found out that an old school friend, Rob Smyth has a studio, letstrain.ie right across the road from work in Beacon South Quarter, Sandyford. Rob also has a section on his website called That Special Dress – could this be more PERFECT! No excuses… so I picked up the phone last Weds & I was booked in for an intro session on Saturday morning.

On Saturday, I got into my gym gear & spent 90 mins with Rob going through my requirements & goals. Rob took all my measurements, some good, some surprising & some we won’t talk about! I explained the areas I wanted to concentrate on & which areas need to be looking good for my dress. I would say I worked out for at least 30-35 mins of this session as Rob introduced me to some of the machines & sets of exercises I’d be doing in the coming weeks.

For the record, .I am a paying client of Rob’s… One on one personal training sessions aren’t cheap but I have found a way to justify it for the next 6 weeks. I will be doing 2 sessions with Rob in the gym & 1 session on my own at home.

I’ve decided to write about the experience with letstrain.ie, to let you know this service is available, what’s involved and how I get on & I also love the extra pressure to push myself by telling you lot I’m doing it.

I will do a couple of follow up posts to let you know exactly what we’re doing. To give you a taster, this morning at 7am, I was busy swinging out of a TRX machine doing lunges & squats!

Rob’s sessions are 1 hour long and are €60 however he has a special offer on his website at the moment for  all new members, 2 session’s for €50!

Have a good week!
